It’s been three weeks since I’ve returned home from Berlin and the entire time I have been harvesting wild berries (click for wonderful Canadian 90s music). I started doing this last summer with my very awesome brother and we made an entire pie out of black raspberries, something I didn’t even know existed until I found them.
This year I’ve got black raspberries, blackberries, and wineberries, which looked like they were in the same genus as raspberries, buuuut I had never seen them before, so I had to look them up. Turns out they are non-native and even invasive in North America. I hear they are supposed to be a little more sour than raspberries. I’d like to find an interesting recipe.
