Does anyone else “ghost” their neighbors in the days approaching Halloween?
I think my family started doing this when I was in high school. You bake goodies/buy goodies, usually Halloween or fall inspired, put them on a plate, then deliver them secretly (ding-dong dash) to two neighbors. Two is better than one, just in case you have neighbors who can’t or don’t want to participate. Along with the plate of goodies, you leave a sheet of paper with a drawing of a ghost and a message explaining what to do next (make plate of goodies, deliver to neighbor without being caught, etc.)
They hang the ghost on the door (ideally) to ID them as already being “ghosted”. It’s fun to watch the signs go up in the neighborhood as Halloween grows near.
