katiesusu: chickenfluff: I’ve been watching Phoebe the Channel Island’s Allen’s Hummingbird on the live cam.  Someone sent me the link last year and I would watch it between classes and teaching and during lunch breaks. So here are some sketches of Phoebe.  Birds in general move super fast, so sometimes it’s hard to catch her in a certain position besides just sitting there.   At one point a fly buzzed by and she watched it.  I could hardly keep track of her movements.  So neat.  Maybe some watercolors later? I love the sketch at the bottom right corner!  Oh, to be a hummingbird. She seemed to be contemplating something.
