Birders?
Is anyone out there in the world of tumblr a birder and located in North America? I was thinking about doing the Christmas Bird Count this year. I’ll be in Seattle for Christmas this year, which is not my usual stomping ground. I was there for the first time two years ago and saw so many new (to me) species in two weeks, I figure why not record it in some way?
I’m starting to hear a bunch of winter species now - Carolina wrens and their “tea kettle tea kettle” calls and slate-colored juncos have been prominent this week (maybe they’ve been here all year, but I haven’t noticed). I no longer have a balcony to throw feed onto (on top of that, I know longer live in the middle of a wooded area) so I can watch at a close distance, but I’m thinking about making some suet and maybe setting something up outside my nook window.
If anyone else is participating, it might be neat to see what all you see and if you’ve never participated before, now might be the time to check it out!
